Stage Two: A Closer Look at the 'Design Phase' of Your Project
Design is an interesting thing. Itβs a game where conflicting ideas, possibilities, realities and practicality try to find harmony.
Designer Saul Bass once said that, "design is thinking made visual". That is very much our goal during this 12 Week Stage of your project.
Our objective during the Design Phase is to clarify, collect and distill all of your ideas and visions and turn them into an achievable, visual concept.
We do this in Seven Key Steps:
The initial design meeting and cost planning session - Our building and design team sit with you to discuss your visions in detail.
The Concept Design - Once everything has been discussed, our team will go away and work on the concepts designs that will be presented to you for review and discussion.
The Developed Designs (3D) -Once the concept designs have been approved, we then begin working on your developed designs, which include 3D depictions of our new home.
The Engineering Plans - At the same time we'll be working on the engineering plans to ensure everything we've discussed is physically achievable.
The Working Drawings - These form a very important part of your building contract and are highly detailed for our construction team to reference during Stage Four.
The Detailed Cost Estimate - Having now analysed everything in detail, we can provide you with a Detailed Cost Estimate.
The Project Specification - Also an important component of your Building Contract.
Your project will evolve during this stage from a hand sketched floor plan into a concept design, then into a 3D design that will allow you to visualise your new home.
Once the Concept and Developed Designs are complete, we then use them to develop your Detailed Project Cost Estimate and Project Specification.
Good processes create great results.
