“Being new to the Sunshine Coast we definitely took our time choosing a builder. We were starting to get very discouraged that we were not going to be able to build a custom terrace home with the finishes and look that we were hoping within our budget.

Once we spoke to Dominic we knew within the first meeting that we wanting qldBUILT to build our home. We couldn’t believe that we were going to get the generously sized house with all of the custom finishes that we didn’t think we would be able to afford eg. polished concrete floors, square set, and extra height ceilings.

Dominic listened to our brief and understood what was important to us.

Coming from North Qld we really wanted lots of indoor/outdoor living space, an uncomplicated floor plan, larger rooms for our 2 teenage girls and a separate home office. We were even able to fit in a pool.

The build process smooth and very well managed. We knew how we wanted it to look and having Sarah (qldBUILT’s Interior Designer) available to run our selections by made it even easier. We had a great relationship with Dominic and qldBUILT from the beginning, right through to handover. This relationship still continues.

We trusted Dominic so much that we let him experiment with our exterior finish to achieve a concrete render look that we had discussed with him.

Every visitor to our house is blown away by the finishes, details, and quality. We love living in the space and, considering the small block, there is more than enough storage and room for us all plus our small dog.

We would recommend qldBUILT to anyone we know that is building and would happily use them again.”

“We met with Dominic in 2016 at his home that he had also built. We were instantly impressed by his level of detail and ability to creatively push a build to a different level.

We engaged Dom to not only be our builder but to also work with our architect. We knew we wanted a builder that is passionate about building homes.

Once we got started we found Dom to be extremely well organised. The coordination of all the different trades was almost seamless with everyone lined up at the appropriate times. The only delay we had was with the tiler, but once he started, Dom convinced him to work weekends to catch up on lost time.

Dom was regularly on site and passionate about the build. Due to the relationship we developed he would often get us to visit the site to think outside the box about small attention to detail.

We were also very impressed with the tradesman Dom supplied. They were all very professional and filled us with confidence.

His attention to detail on little things like the bathroom finishings and modern fixtures was a key contribution to making the finished product what it is today - a beautiful, modern house that is also functional and feels like a home.

Paramount to the whole project for us was building a home that not only looked good, but was also completely accessible - Ryan is in a wheelchair and having a home where he could do simple things that most people take for granted, like independently getting in and out to the street and deck with our daughter on his lap, being able to easily use every bathroom and cook was massive.

Together with Dom’s openness to listening to what we wanted and going out of his way to resolve structural limitations, we’ve managed to create a house that any modern designer would be proud of, yet one that also enables our family to have complete freedom without the physical limitations that exist in most houses.

That has been the most life-changing benefit of our new home, and we’re grateful to have found someone who was able to support, create and bring our vision and dream to reality."
